WordPress is the world's most popular system for creating websites and blogs. Thanks to Softaculous, you can install it on your hosting in less than two minutes. Follow these simple steps:
Step 1: Open Softaculous
- Log in to your DirectAdmin control panel.
- In the top search bar or by scrolling down to the section named Extra Features, click on the Softaculous Auto Installer icon.
Step 2: Choose WordPress
- You will see a list of the most popular applications. Hover over the WordPress logo and click the blue Install button.
Step 3: Configure the Installation Form
On the setup screen, adjust the following key fields:
- Choose Protocol: Choose
https://orhttps://www.(make sure you have previously activated your free Let's Encrypt SSL certificate). - Choose Domain: Select the domain where you want to install the website.
- In Directory: Very important! If you want your website to load immediately when typing your main domain (e.g., yourdomain.com), leave this field completely empty. If you type something there (like wp), your website will only open when typing yourdomain.com.
Step 4: Set up Admin Account Details
- Admin Username: Change the default "admin" username to a customized one for security reasons.
- Admin Password: Generate a secure password and save it in a safe place.
- Admin Email: Type your personal email address. This is where you will receive your website notifications.
- Select Language: Choose your preferred language (e.g., English).
Step 5: Complete the Installation
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the Install button.
- Do not close the window. The system will take a few seconds to verify the data and unpack the files.
That's it! You will see a success message with two links: one to view your newly created website and another ending in
/wp-admin to log into your WordPress dashboard.
