Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Find quick answers to the most common questions about our web hosting services, accounts, and policies.

Q: Can I use my own domain name or do I have to buy one of yours?
A: You can absolutely use your own domain name registered with any third-party provider (like Namecheap, GoDaddy, etc.). During checkout, simply select the option "I will use my existing domain and update my nameservers". Once your hosting account is active, just point your domain's nameservers to the ones provided in your welcome email.

Q: What happens if my website exceeds the CPU or RAM resource limits?
A: Unlike other hosting providers, we will never suspend your account if your website experiences a sudden spike in traffic and hits its resource limits.
Our servers allocate specific resource cushions for each tier:
  • Economy Plans ($1 to $5): Up to 100% CPU, 1GB RAM, and 50 concurrent tasks.
  • High-Tier Plans ($10 to $20): Up to 200% CPU, 2GB RAM, and 100 concurrent tasks.
If your website temporarily reaches these limits (for instance, during a massive sales event or a viral post), our system will automatically throttle and queue the excess requests to maintain stability, but your site will remain online. If your project consistently operates at peak capacity, you will simply receive a friendly optimization suggestion or upgrade notice so you can scale your CPU and memory seamlessly.ssss

Q: How can I monitor my website's CPU, RAM, and resource usage?
A: You can check your real-time resource consumption at any time directly from your control panel. This helps you understand your website's performance and see how close you are to your plan's allocations.
To view your stats, follow these steps:
  1. Log in to your DirectAdmin control panel.
  2. In the main menu, look for the System Info & Files section (or use the top search bar).
  3. Click on Resource Usage (or Site Summary / Statistics / Logs depending on your active theme).
  4. Inside, you will see live graphs and historical data showing your CPU, Memory (RAM), Concurrent Tasks.
If you ever see a "Resource Limit Warning" on this dashboard, don't worry! As a reminder, your site will not be suspended. It simply means your site reached a spike or might be working at its full capacity, so you might want to optimize your database, clean up heavy plugins, or consider a plan upgrade to handle more traffic seamlessly.

Q: Can I upgrade or downgrade my hosting plan later?
A: Yes, you can change your plan at any time. Upgrades are processed automatically and instantly through your client area without any downtime for your website. You will only pay the prorated difference for the remaining days of your billing cycle.

Q: Do you offer automated backups?
A: Yes, we perform regular automated server backups for disaster recovery. However, we highly recommend using the Softaculous backup feature or the DirectAdmin backup tool inside your panel to maintain your own local copies before making major changes to your website.

Q: How long does it take for my hosting account to be activated?
A: All hosting accounts are set up automatically right after your payment is confirmed. You will receive your DirectAdmin login credentials via email within a few minutes of completing your order.
